Serial Matrimonial Fraudster Arrested in Mira Bhayandar for Allegedly Cheating Over 25 Women Across India
Mira Bhayandar Crime Branch arrested a man accused of cheating over 25 women across India through fake marriage promises. The accused allegedly used false identities to gain trust and extract money, targeting vulnerable women via matrimonial platforms. A BMW X1 was seized, and his son has been named co-accused. The accused is now in judicial custody while investigations continue into the large-scale fraud network.
The accused allegedly posed as an unmarried individual and systematically targeted divorced, differently abled, and emotionally vulnerable women through matrimonial websites and newspaper advertisements. Using multiple fake names and fabricated identities, he gained the trust of his victims before gradually extracting money from them over time.
According to police officials, the Crime Detection Branch Unit-1 conducted a targeted operation and successfully traced and arrested the accused from Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh. The accused is widely referred to as a “conman groom” in connection with the case.
Investigators have revealed that the accused deliberately selected vulnerable women, built emotional relationships under the pretext of marriage, and subsequently siphoned off substantial financial resources. Preliminary findings confirm that more than 25 women across the country have been cheated in this manner.
During the investigation, police also seized a BMW X1 car believed to have been purchased using the proceeds of the alleged fraud. Authorities stated that the luxury vehicle forms part of the financial assets acquired through the deceptive activities.
In a further development, the accused’s son has also been named as a co-accused in the case. Officials confirmed that the main accused is currently in judicial custody as the investigation continues to uncover the full extent of the alleged fraud network.
The case has raised serious concerns about increasing matrimonial fraud schemes and the exploitation of vulnerable individuals through digital and print matchmaking platforms.
